Pharmacy2U and LloydsDirect unite as one digital-first pharmacy under the Pharmacy2U brand

In October 2023, Pharmacy2U announced that it had acquired LloydsDirect, uniting two of the UK's most trusted and experienced online pharmacies. This collaboration marks the beginning of a phased integration, where we will combine our operations under the Pharmacy2U brand, enhancing our service offerings without disrupting patient care.

Pharmacy2U and LloydsDirect share a deep-rooted heritage in online pharmacy and repeat dispensing, facilitating the delivery of NHS prescription medicines directly to patients' homes and coordinating with their GPs. This joint venture leverages our collective pharmacy knowledge, online expertise, and advanced dispensing technology, aiming to significantly improve accessibility to online pharmacy and healthcare services for our patients.

As we continue this journey, our focus remains steadfast on patient-centricity and service excellence—a hallmark of both entities. Pharmacy2U recognises and values LloydsDirect’s technological innovations in enhancing the online patient experience and their commitment to sustainability as a certified B Corp. Pharmacy2U continues to lead with its industry-leading clinical care, automated dispensing technologies, and a broadening health e-commerce offering.

In this initial phase, we are carefully testing the migration process with a small group of LloydsDirect patients to ensure a smooth transition for all. The majority of LloydsDirect patients will see no immediate change to their service, allowing us to maintain the continuity and quality of care they expect and deserve.

"We are delighted to welcome the LloydsDirect team and patients into the Pharmacy2U family. This union is a testament to our shared values, dedication to innovation, and collective vision to enhance patient care. As we move forward, our combined efforts will focus on ensuring a seamless transition for all LloydsDirect patients, while continuing to deliver exceptional healthcare services," said Kevin Heath, CEO of Pharmacy2U.

Connie Cha, Managing Director of LloydsDirect, added, "Joining forces with Pharmacy2U represents a significant milestone in our journey to provide accessible and convenient pharmacy services. We are excited about the opportunities this collaboration brings to our patients and the NHS. Our teams are committed to working closely together to leverage our strengths and offer even greater access to digital health services."
