How we work with your GP

We contact your GP

Each time you order medicine, we request a prescription from your GP.

Easy prescription approval

Your GP sends us an electronic prescription, which usually takes 1 to 48 hours.

Free for everyone

We cover the cost of delivery, so using Pharmacy2U does not cost you or your GP anything extra.

What are electronic prescriptions?

Most prescriptions are now processed and sent electronically.

You can choose a preferred pharmacy to receive your electronic prescriptions. The NHS calls this having a nominated pharmacy.

When you sign up to LloydsDirect, we’ll become your nominated pharmacy. This lets your GP send your prescriptions directly to us.

Telling us which medicines you need

Every order you place will be confirmed by your GP. So you don’t need to worry about ordering the wrong medicine.

Telling us which medicines you have on repeat prescription is easy. You can do it in 2 ways.

  1. Use the medicine search on our website or app. Any medicine you select will be confirmed by your GP when you order.
  2. Use our mobile app to scan the barcode on a packet of medicine you already have.

If you’d prefer your GP to add medicine to your LloydsDirect account, you can sign up with your NHS login.
