Dear staff

We’ve got some exciting news to share. From July, we will be changing the name of Echo to LloydsDirect.

Since Echo joined the McKesson family in 2019, it has become a central part of our business as we aim to become the UK’s leading omnichannel pharmacy brand.

By combining the expertise and trust of our LloydsPharmacy network, with a winning online service, we have been able to provide our customers and patients with more choice and convenience when managing their prescriptions. This has been incredibly useful during the Covid-19 pandemic which has seen even more people looking for alternative ways to get their medication.

This name change is the next step to help us further integrate our online and in-store offering. Although the Echo name is changing, our mission is the same. We’re still making NHS prescriptions simple for everyone.

We believe this change will enable us to continue growing and become the number one pharmacy brand in the UK.

So, what happens next?

We’re starting to tell our patients this week with a view to officially changing our name from 6 July. That means you’ll start to see some changes to our marketing and social media activity.

In the meantime, our internal teams are working hard in the background to update our website and various branded materials.

If you have any documents or assets that contain the Echo name or branding, these will need to be updated or replaced over the next few weeks. The team will be reaching out shortly to advise on what you should do next.
